William Russell Chastain, 54, of High Springs, Florida, passed away after a long courageous battle with cancer on April 10, 2016 at his home with his family. Russell was the owner and operator of Russell’s Lawn Service for the past three years and previously owner of W.R. Chastain Spreading Service. Russell worked in farming all of his life and took great pride in his work.

Russell is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Linda Lee Chastain, daughter Brittany (Donny) Chastain Logan and son William Colton Chastain. Russell loved his kids and always made sure they were taken care of. He is also survived by his loving parents, Billy and Cleone Crews Chastain and sister April Chastain.

Russell was a Christian and a member of Forest Grove Baptist Church. He loved and lived life to the very fullest and always made friends with everyone he met. Russell would greet everyone with his cowboy hat, a big smile, and a funny joke.  He loved to make everyone laugh and had a heart of gold.  Russell was a member of the Gilchrist County Sportsman hunting club, he looked forward to being there every season to hunt and spend time with his friends that he loved so dearly.   During the summer months Russell liked to take his family to Daytona Beach and spend time in the waves and enjoy the sunshine.  He loved to listen to country music and sing Willie Nelson karaoke. Russell was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, cousin, and friend to all. He will be greatly missed.
