ALACHUA – Soccer players from across the community took to the field Saturday as the Santa Fe High School boys soccer organization and the Alachua Youth Soccer Alliance hosted the inaugural 3v3 Rumble Challenge, a one-day tournament that combined competition with fundraising for the school’s soccer program.

The event featured youth and adult divisions, drawing players, families, alumni and supporters for a full day of small-sided soccer. Organizers said the tournament was designed to strengthen connections between the community’s recreation league and the Santa Fe High School program while generating financial support for the upcoming season.

The tournament also served as a fundraiser for the Santa Fe High School boys soccer booster organization. Proceeds from team registrations, concessions and local sponsorships will help provide equipment, travel gear and training resources for the school’s soccer program.

In addition to raising money, the event highlighted the relationship between youth soccer and the high school program by giving younger athletes an opportunity to interact with older players and members of the local soccer community.

The tournament was organized by Santa Fe High School boys soccer head coach and alumnus Morgan Dall’Acqua, who coordinated the event with the support of volunteers and community partners.

Organizers credited Dall’Acqua’s planning and volunteer efforts with bringing the event to life and establishing what they hope will become an annual tradition.

“This past weekend’s 3v3 Rumble brought out players and fans of all ages for a fantastic day of fast-paced soccer and community connection,” organizers said in a statement. “The tournament successfully bridged the gap between the youth recreation level and the high school program, uniting local families, alumni, and soccer enthusiasts for a common cause.”

They also thanked the many volunteers, participants and supporters who helped make the event possible.

“Thank you to everyone who laced up their boots, volunteered their time, and came out to support the soccer community!”

Organizers described the tournament as one of the organization’s most successful summer events and said they hope to build on that momentum with future community tournaments that continue supporting Santa Fe High School soccer while fostering participation in the sport at all levels.
