UPDATE: The roadway in the 8500 block of Northwest County Road 235 has reopened after crews cleared a downed tree and power lines from the area. Motorists may resume normal travel.
ALACHUA COUNTY – A section of Northwest County Road 235 has been closed in both directions after a tree and power lines fell across the roadway Thursday, according to the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded to the 8500 block of NW County Road 235 shortly after noon on May 14. Authorities said the downed tree and power lines have made the roadway impassable.
Motorists are being urged to avoid the area and use NW 78th Avenue and NW 94th Avenue as alternate routes.
Officials have not provided an estimate for when the roadway will reopen.
