ACCOUNTS MANAGER – FINANCE DEPARTMENT – FULL-TIME- Responsible for accounting work in maintaining accounting records, financial accounts, accounts payable, purchase orders, and cash receipts.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS TO PERFORM WORK:
• Associate’s Degree in Accounting-Preferred.
• Two (2) years of experience involving bookkeeping or accounting procedures with experience in computer programs, spreadsheet operations, accounts payable and experience with customer service work.
Starting Pay Range- $22.87- $24.00 per hour plus benefits depending on qualifications and experience.

SECOND PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE
The City of Hawthorne plans to apply to Florida Commerce for a FFY 2025 Small Cities Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) in the amount of $3,655,682.00 in the Neighborhood Revitalization category. For each activity that is proposed, at least 70% of the funds must benefit low- and moderate-income persons. The activities, dollar amounts and estimated percentage benefit to low- and moderate-income persons for which the City of Hawthorne is applying are:
The City of Hawthorne proposes to utilize Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding to support a water line replacement project. This project entails the replacement of aging and deteriorated potable water mains within three (3) targeted service areas of the City. The proposed improvements include the replacement of approximately 16,600 linear feet of undersized and obsolete water mains of varying diameters, along with associated valves, fittings, fire hydrants, and service connections.
The existing pipelines are primarily composed of aging cast iron and galvanized steel materials, many of which are more than 60 years old and are increasingly susceptible to leaks, breaks, and service interruptions. These improvements have been previously identified, evaluated, and advanced through prior planning and design efforts, and represent the City’s highest-priority water system deficiencies.
Service Area #1 – The replacement of 1,850 linear feet of 6” PVC and 300 linear feet of 8” PVC along the following streets:
• SE 60th Lane between SE 228th Terrace and SE 230th Terrace

A public hearing to provide citizens with an opportunity to comment on the application will be held on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. or as soon thereafter as possible at the City of Hawthorne’s City Hall Council Meeting Room located at 6875 SE 221st Street, Hawthorne Florida 32640.
