Q_-_Tornado_DSC_0221_copyALACHUA – Severe weather that swept through the area last Saturday, March 24, left a trail of downed trees and power lines as well as damaged homes.  Several houses in the city of Alachua sustained damage from falling trees and high winds and there were reports of sporadic power outages.  Damage was visible along Peggy Road in the vicinity of NW 197th Terrace.  Cleanup crews were on site Sunday morning removing trees and debris from the area.  No injuries were reported as a result of the storm, although several vehicle accidents were reported along I-75.
