Obituary2012 Barbara Ann McDaniel, 68, lifelong resident of Alachua, went to be with her Lord from her residence on Friday, February 17, 2012.

She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Alachua and a graduate of Santa Fe High School, Class of 1961.  She was retired as a bookkeeper at Central Builders Supply of Gainesville. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be missed by all.

Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Clifton McDaniel Sr.; two sons, Ray (Tammarin) McDaniel of Alachua and Michael (Kristin) McDaniel of Gainesville; two daughters, Cheryl Leona Fowler and Denise (Gary) Lilly, both of Alachua; brother Joe Mitchell Smith, Jr. of High Springs; four sisters, Jeanette Walker of Alachua, Shirley Chasteen of Branford, Mickey Spikes of Branford and Diane Faircloth of Trenton; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation is Monday, February 20, 2012 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Evans-Carter Funeral Home, High Springs. Funeral Services will be conducted Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at 2 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church of Alachua with Rev. Gary Hardesty officiating, with burial at Newnansville Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the care of Evans-Carter Funeral Home, High Springs.

Obituary2012  Nathaniel Washington, 66 passed on Sunday, February 5, 2012.  He was born to the late Oscar and Lula B. McDonald Washington in Columbia County.

Mr. Washington was a member of St. Matthew Missionary Baptist Church and an owner of a construction company.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Willie C. Washington and Lewis Washington, and sister, Beatrice Canty.

He is survived by his wife, Ethel Washington; children, Nathaniel Washington, Jr., Theordore Washington, Oscar Washington, Ruby D. Washington, Jeffery Washington, Jerome Washington, Nathaniel Washington III, Shemika Washington, and Chris Washington; siblings, Ruth W. Jenkins, Annie (Elder Charles) Butler, Dave Washington, Isadore (Rose Mary) Washington and Ruthie Mae Washington.

Funeral services for Mr. Washington will be held Saturday, February 11, 2012 at 11 a.m. at St. Matthew Missionary Baptist Church, Rev. Charles Simmons, Pastor.  Burial will follow in St. Matthew Cemetery.

Visitation will be Friday, February 20, 2012 at the funeral home from 6-7 p.m.

   Obituary2012Faye Alene Vickory, 65, passed away January 10, 2012 in Gainesville, Fla.

She is survived by her husband, William (Bill) Vickory; son, Al (Susan) Vickory; daughter, Korona (Eddie) Skipper.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 13, 2012 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Evans-Carter Funeral Home in High Springs. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2012 at 2 p.m. at Newnansville Cemetery in Alachua, Fla.

Arrangements are under the care of Evans-Carter Funeral Home, High Springs.

Obituary2012 Edward D. (Buddy) Floyd, 85, longtime Alachua resident and business owner, passed away Sunday at his residence. He was a member of Legacy Baptist, Alachua.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Flo Floyd; one son, Donald (Debbie) Floyd of Lake Butler; three daughters, Vivian (Ken) Womble of MaxMeadows, Va., Charlotte (Chuck) Simmons of Alachua, Dorothy Floyd of Gainesville; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m., Wednesday at Legacy Baptist Church, Alachua. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Graveside services will be at Antioch Cemetery, LaCrosse under the direction of Evans-Carter Funeral Home of High Springs.

obit  Charles “Bill” William Burnett passed away on December 25, 2011 at home at the age of 80 after an extended illness.

He was a US Air Force veteran, having served during the Korean War.  He loved NASCAR and was also an avid fisherman who loved Snook and Red fishing.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Patricia; daughter, Tricia (Jason) Howe of High Springs; step-daughter, Melody (Monty) Falls of Homestead; five grandchildren; one great grandson; brother, Sam (Shirley) Burnett of Lake City; and sister, Anna Miles of  West Palm Beach.

In accordance with Mr. Burnett’s wishes, no services are being held.
