ALACHUA – The Alachua Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying two individuals believed to be connected to a burglary at Brown’s Country Buffet earlier this month.
According to police, the burglary occurred at approximately 10:05 p.m. June 13, 2026, at the restaurant, located at 14423 N.W. U.S. Highway 441.
Investigators said two masked suspects entered the business through the rear of the building while wearing gloves and face coverings. Once inside, the pair went directly to the cash register area, where they allegedly forced open cash registers and the business’s main money box.
Police said the suspects also attempted to access a larger safe using what investigators described as a Ryobi circular saw equipped with a red Milwaukee blade.
According to the department, the suspects used a bright yellow pry bar with visible wear marks to force entry into the building and pry open the cash registers. Orange-handled wire cutters were also seen during the burglary.
Investigators said the pair cut the wire connected to the business’s interior video surveillance system at approximately 10:07 p.m. before leaving through the rear of the building about two minutes later.
Police released surveillance images of the suspects in hopes someone may recognize them.
According to investigators, one suspect was wearing a black long-sleeve shirt, black pants, black gloves and white Adidas Lite Racer Adapt 4.0 athletic shoes. The suspect’s face was concealed with what appeared to be a teal or turquoise shirt tied around the head.
The second suspect was described as wearing a dark blue long-sleeve shirt, black jeans, white gloves and black shoes that appear to display the word “ASAP” on the side. Investigators said the suspect was also carrying a camouflage backpack and had a black shirt covering the face.
Detectives are asking anyone who observed suspicious activity between approximately 9:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. June 13 near Brown’s Country Buffet, Northwest 125th Street, Northwest 150th Avenue, the Alachua Forest subdivision or the Alachua Hills neighborhood to contact investigators.
Police are also requesting that nearby residents and business owners review surveillance camera footage recorded during that time frame for anything that may assist the investigation.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Williams of the Alachua Police Department at 386-462-1396. Anonymous tips may also be submitted through Crime Stoppers of North Central Florida at 352-372-STOP (7867), through the Alachua Police Department’s website or by using the department’s mobile app.
