GAINESVILLE – A 55-year-old High Springs man has been charged with sexual battery after an Alachua County Sheriff’s Office (ASO) investigation into allegations that he sexually assaulted a massage client during an after-hours appointment at a Gainesville chiropractic office.
Jason Michael Vigliotti was arrested on the charge after detectives investigated a complaint involving a client who said the alleged assault occurred March 14. 2026, during a massage session booked directly through Vigliotti.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, Vigliotti operated a private massage business while renting space inside Affordable Chiropractic, located at 1112 N.W. 76th Blvd. Detectives said the victim was not a patient of the chiropractic office and that the alleged incident occurred during a massage appointment arranged through Vigliotti outside the business’s normal operating hours.
The woman told investigators she had been receiving massages from Vigliotti for about six months, primarily after regular business hours, when the office was closed to the public. She said Vigliotti would unlock the building to allow her inside for appointments.
According to the arrest report, the woman told investigators she had observed several warning signs before the alleged assault but did not recognize them as improper because she was unfamiliar with accepted massage therapy practices.
She reported that during previous appointments, draping intended to preserve her privacy would sometimes slip away, exposing her body without being repositioned. She also told investigators that Vigliotti would sometimes lower her underwear without explanation, asked her to remove her bra, did not maintain client records and accepted only cash or electronic payment.
Despite feeling uncomfortable, she continued scheduling appointments, according to the report.
The woman told detectives that during the March 14 appointment, Vigliotti did not discuss treatment areas as he typically had during prior sessions. Instead, she alleged he began using a massage gun in an inappropriate manner before engaging in sexual contact that she did not consent to.
According to the report, the woman said she felt “frozen” and unable to move during the encounter.
Investigators said she reported that Vigliotti repeatedly told her not to disclose what had occurred. According to the arrest report, he allegedly told her, “Whatever happens here stays here,” and “You can’t tell anyone.”
The woman also told detectives that when Vigliotti asked whether she would report misconduct to law enforcement or “handle it independently,” she responded that she would handle it herself. According to the report, Vigliotti replied, “Good girl.”
She told investigators the session lasted more than two hours. When it concluded, she said Vigliotti told her she did not need to pay for the massage and again emphasized that no one should learn what had occurred.
During the investigation, detectives interviewed a friend of the victim who said Vigliotti had previously worked for her. According to the arrest report, the friend said she had received two complaints involving his handling of client draping, including one complaint alleging inappropriate sexual touching during a massage.
The friend told investigators the draping practices described by the victim were inconsistent with accepted massage therapy standards and characterized them as “severe malpractice.”
After being advised of his constitutional rights, Vigliotti declined to speak with detectives, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
Vigliotti has no local criminal history.
Alachua County Judge Meshon Rawls ordered him held without bail pending a hearing on a motion filed by the State Attorney’s Office seeking pretrial detention. If the motion is denied, bond will be addressed at that hearing.
In announcing the arrest, the Sheriff’s Office said detectives believe there may be additional victims.
“If you or someone you know had an encounter with Jason Vigliotti that involved inappropriate conduct during a massage session, you are encouraged to contact Detective C. Bierman at 352-367-4082 or cbierman@acso.us. You will be treated with dignity, respect and compassion,” the Sheriff’s Office said in a statement.
The charge is an allegation, and Vigliotti is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
