ALACHUA – The City of Alachua is preparing to celebrate America’s 250th Independence Day with a huge bang as the 26th annual Fourth of July Celebration returns to Legacy Park on Saturday, July 4.

The family-friendly event will feature live music from Uncle Morty’s Rhythm Cream Band, food vendors and the City’s signature fireworks show ending with a surprise.

Gates open at 5 p.m. at Legacy Park, located at 15400 Peggy Road. Guests are encouraged to arrive early, bring lawn chairs or blankets and enjoy an evening of community celebration before the fireworks light up the sky.

The celebration will include live entertainment, food, music, and patriotic fun for all ages. The national anthem is scheduled from 9:20 p.m., followed by fireworks at 9:30 p.m.

“This celebration is one of the many ways we come together as a community to honor our nation, enjoy time with family and neighbors and celebrate what makes Alachua a strong community to call home,” said Mayor Walter Welch.

Admission and parking are free.
