Gloria Morgan Condo, 86, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2013 at Tri-County Hospice Care Center. She had been a resident at The Village in Gainesville, Fla., for the past 1 ½ years and received loving care and companionship from their staff. Early in her adult life she lived in Gainesville for 35 years but in recent years lived in Alachua and High Springs, Fla. She was born and raised in Plant City, Fla., and attended Florida Southern University.

Mrs. Condo retired in 1986 from Farmer’s Home Administration, Housing Loan Department. She was a real estate broker/salesman and also taught the real estate license course. She was an avid Gator fan, volunteered for many years at Haven Hospice in Gainesville and was also a volunteer for Meals on Wheels. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of High Springs.

She had a sweet spirit and kind nature and was a very loving mother to her four children. She was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, Jesse Kline Condo, in 1997. She is survived by her longtime companion and friend, Fred (Sonny) Hadsock; son, Steve Condo (Kendra); daughters, Cheryl Slechta, Melanie Jett (Dan), and Terri Charron (Dan); six grandchildren, four great grandchildren and her sister, Mary Frances (Panky) Snow.

Arrangements are under the care of Evans Carter Funeral Home, High Springs, Fla. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013 at 6 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of High Springs. Mrs. Condo will be interred in Plant City, Fla., beside her late husband.

obituary2012 160 80Glenn Paul Hubler, 75, of High Springs, passed away Dec. 23, 2012 at his home.

Mr. Hubler was born on Oct. 8, 1937 in Ashland, Pennsylvania and moved to Fort Lauderdale in 1970 before re-locating to High Springs in 1996.

He served 22 years in the U.S. Coast Guard and retired in 1976 as a Chief Gunners mate. Mr. Hubler was also a Vietnam veteran.

In 1996, he retired from the Sloan Pump Company, which specialized in developing hydraulic pumps, wellpoint systems and jet pumps. Most recently, he owned and operated a mobile vehicle detailing business, Gatortail Detail.

He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion, and the U.S. Coast Guard Chief Petty Officers Association. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, camping and watching Gator football and NASCAR on television.

Mr. Hubler is survived by his wife of 57 years, Elmira “Ellie” Hubler; daughters, Glenda Cole of Keystone Heights and Heather Murphy of High Springs; and son, Jeffrey Hubler of High Springs.

He also has six grandchildren, Jamie Olsen, Amanda Drew, Megan Bohn, Corey Rhodes, Shad Hubler and Christopher Hubler and five great-granddaughters, Courtney Wootten, Jenna Olsen, Summer Drew, Piper Drew and Hellena Bohn.

A public memorial service to celebrate his life will be held on Friday, Jan. 18, 2013 at 2 p.m. at Evans-Carter Funeral Home, 220 North Main Street, High Springs.

obituary2012 160 80Richard Michael Maldonado, 46, of Ft. White, Fla., passed away in his home on Jan. 2, 2013. He was born to Michael and Judith Maldonado on July 13, 1966 in Hollywood, Fla.

Mr. Maldonado is survived by his girlfriend of 12 years, Rita Sheppard; his father, Michael Maldonado; one brother, Michael Maldonado; and six sisters, Carol Cagle, Denise Buck, Michaele Simons, Linda Maldonado, Lisa Avalos and Janis Luna.Arrangements are under the care of Evans-Carter Funeral Home, 220 North Main Street, High Springs, Fla.

obituary2012 160 80Jasen T. Hendrickson, 26, of High Springs, died Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident in High Springs. He was a native of Colon, Mich., and a graduate of the Colon High School Class of 2004.

Mr. Hendrickson was a cabinetmaker at Hunter Marine in Alachua, an avid fisherman and a University of Michigan fan. He loved his family, Michigan sports and working with children.

He is survived by his parents, Dennis and Christine Seguin Hendrickson, High Springs; maternal grandparents, Homer and Katherine Seguin, Ellenburg Depot, N.Y.; one sister, Tricia (Greg) Kurzawski; a niece, Brooke Kurzawski; a nephew, Samuel Kurzawski, all of Lake City; one brother, Joshua (Chelsea) Hendrickson of Marquette, Mich., and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Memorial services will be conducted at a later date in Colon, Mich. Arrangements are under the direction of Evans-Carter Funeral Home, High Springs.

Harold Norman Benton, 79, of High Springs, passed away in his home on Dec. 27, 2012.

Mr. Benton was born Oct. 14, 1933 in Birmingham, Ala., to Clarence and Ethel Benton.

He is survived by two sons, David Benton of High Springs and Harold Benton of Albany, Ga.; two daughters, Tammy Davis and Pam Hash both of High Springs; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 31, 2012 at High Springs Cemetery.
