obituary2012 160 80  Evelyn Carlisle, 92, passed away after a lengthy illness on December 10, 2012, at Haven Hospice in Gainesville.

Mrs. Carlisle was born July 23, 1920, and worked and retired as a bank employee and lifetime resident of Newberry, Florida.

Mrs. Carlisle was a member of the First Baptist Church of Newberry, Florida and of the Newberry Chapter #198 Order of the Eastern Star.

She is survived by her brother, Doyle Carlton (Mary) Smith; nieces Kaye (Ed) Hensel, Terry Lee Jones; brother-in-law, Tommy (Mary) Carlisle; Stanley (Beth) Carlisle; Pam (Mike) Oliver; and many other nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, December 13, 2012 at the First Baptist Church of Newberry, 25520 West Newberry Road, Newberry, Florida. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Haven Hospice, 4200 N.W. 90th Blvd., Gainesville, FL 32609.

Llewellyn Willard White, age 68 of Newberry, Florida, passed away on Saturday, December 8, 2012. He was born October 14, 1944 at Tyndall Air Force Base in Panama City Beach, Florida, to Joseph Willard White and Mildred Marie White.

He graduated from Gainesville High School and attended Santa Fe College. He was a contractor, furniture refinisher, and retired from Clay Electric. He loved God, family, and friends. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years Janet Stanley White; his daughters Deana (Little) and Wendy; his son Eric (Laura), his grandchildren Amanda, Travis, Darrell, Kasey, Tyler, Mehgan and Gracie; and his great grandchildren Joshua and Khloe; and his sister Gayle, step-brothers Bill, Jimmy, Jerry, Leo and step-sister Arlene.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 14, 2012 from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 15, 2012, at the Bronson Road Baptist Church, 13830 NE 80th Avenue, Bronson, Florida. Interment will be private. Arrangements are under the care of Milam Funeral and Cremation Services, 22405 West Newberry Road, Newberry, FL 32669.

obituary2012 160 80Vergie “Lessie” Godwin, age 82, passed peacefully Friday, November 23, 2012. She was born July 4, 1930. Lessie worked for Jo-Ann Fabrics and loved to sew blankets for her grandchildren. She enjoyed gardening and was a dedicated mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by a son, James Roberts, and is survived by her sons Leroy Roberts, Fred Roberts and Daniel Roberts; her daughters Tina Brewer, Brenda Green, and Donna Wilson; her 11 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.

A Memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, December 1, 2012 at the Mount Pleasant Baptist Church 14105 NE 90th Avenue (CR 337) High Springs, Fla. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Haven Hospice, 311 NE 9th Street Chiefland, FL 32626. Shirley Vaughan Bunnell, 77, passed away on December 8, 2012 in her home. Ms. Bunnell was born January 10, 1935, in Elmhurst, Illinois. She is survived by a son, Ricky Bunnell of Douglasville, Georgia; a daughter, Sandra Schulmeister of Douglasville and two grandchildren, Sara Schulmeister and Michael Schulmeister, both of Douglasville. Ms. Bunnell loved planting flowers and nature. She was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church of Ft. White, Florida. obituary2012 160 80Robert “Bobby” Edwin Hunter, 74, of High Springs, Fla., passed away November 23, 2012 at North Florida Regional Medical Center.

He served in the U.S. Army and was a retired meat cutter.

Mr. Hunter was preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Peggy Ann Hunter, daughter, Robin Elmore, and son, Mike Hunter.

He is survived by son, Allen C. Hunter (Kim) of Ft. White; two brothers, Billy Hunter (Christine) and Larry Bland, both of Alachua; three sisters, Betty McIntosh of Ft. White, Earlene Disalvo (Michael) of Gainesville, and Jeannie Dougherty (Paul) of Hawthorne; two grandsons, Andrew C. Hunter of Pensacola and Dustin Elmore of Windsor.

Visitation will be 5 – 7 p.m. on Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at Evans-Carter Funeral Home, 220 N Main Street, High Springs.
