Effie Lane Flynn, 94, of Fort White, Florida, passed away Aug. 9, 2016 at Haven Hospice Suwannee Care Center in Lake City, Florida. Effie was born Jan. 15, 1922 to William and Mardie Lane.

She is survived by three sons, Orrin Kohn Jr. of Fort White, Harry C. Kohn of Kuna, Idaho, and Alton L. Kohn of Ft. White; three daughters, Patsy LeJune of Monroe, Georgia, Earlene Fraze and Mary Frances Shaw both of Bryceville, Florida; two brothers, James G. Lane of Macclenny, Florida, and Marion Lane of Jacksonville, Florida, and a sister Catherine Vinning of Starke, Florida, as well as 12 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and many great-great grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at Fort White Cemetery on Friday, Aug. 12 at 3 p.m.

Effie Lovenia White, 85, of Lake Butler passed away Aug. 1, 2016. Mrs. White was born in Chiefland, Florida, to the late John and Alice Polk, and had spent most of her life in the High Springs and Alachua area before moving to Lake Butler in 1994. She worked for several years at Copeland Sausage and later at Nettles Sausage. Mrs. White was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Lake Butler and was preceded in death by her husband, Walter White, Jr. and one grandson.

Mrs. White is survived by her daughters, Sandra Wood (Jerry) of Martinez, Georgia and Patricia Andrews (Wayne) of Lake Butler; a son Danny White (Sena) of Locust Grove, Georgia, five grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mrs. White will be held at 3 p.m., Friday, Aug. 5, 2016 at the Faith Baptist Church in Lake Butler. Interment will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery outside of High Springs. Janet Loretta Sebastian Beck, 85, of High Springs, went gently into the loving presence of Jesus on Aug. 7, 2016 at her home. Janet was born March 11, 1931 in Chicago, to Steven and Ethel Sebastian.

In 1956 she married Morris C. Beck, and together they served as missionaries with T.E.A.M. (The Evangelical Alliance Mission) in Taiwan for over 30 years. Her lifelong passion was to help others grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ, whom she loved and served with her whole heart.

Janet was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 59 years, Morris Beck. She is survived by their children, Kathy Beck, Betty Ann (Bryan) Latchaw, and Don Beck; grandchildren Bob (Brittany) Latchaw, Matthew (Lyric) Latchaw, and Jana Latchaw; sister-in-law Shirley Kirby; many nieces and nephews, and a host of friends around the world.

Visitation will be on Friday, Aug. 12, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Evans-Carter Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Aug. 13 at 10:30 a.m. at First Baptist Church, High Springs.

Melvin Belton “Andy” Anderson, Jr., 89, of High Springs, Florida, passed away on Thursday, July 28, 2016.

Mr. Anderson was born Aug. 26, 1926 in Pinellas County, Florida, to Melvin and Jessie Anderson. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1944 to 1946. Andy moved to High Springs, Florida, and in 1951 was hired by Atlantic Coastline as an engineer. He moved to Wakulla County, Florida, after transferring to CSX in Tallahassee in 1971. He then moved back to High Springs in 2000. Mr. Anderson enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in High Springs.

He is survived by his daughters, Mary K. Anderson of High Springs, Jean Fairley of Charlotte, North Carolina, and Susanne Lankford of Elizabeth City, North Carolina; grandchildren, Frank Williams, Rory Williams, Anderson Fairley, Jessie Fairley, Heather Noon and Jimmy Lankford; 13 great grandchildren; brother, Monroe Anderson of Kodak, Tennessee; sisters, Ethel Gainey of Daytona Beach, Florida, and Anne Salsbury of Jacksonville, Florida. He was preceded in death by his wife Katy Anderson; daughter Nancy Anderson; and granddaughter Kendra Stone.

The family extends a special thank you to his caretakers, Melissa Pickeren, Melissa King, Sasha Matthews and Lynette Kraemer.

Rory Williams, grandson of MB Anderson: Papa, as we all knew him, could be as gruff as an old he-coon but everyone knew he would do anything under the sun for one of his family or friends. One could depend on him for a solution if ever there was a problem or necessity. There seemed to be no end to what he could fix, build or grow. Papa taught me, personally, by his example, to love by giving and enjoy life regardless of the burdens that must be carried. His stories of life in Florida as a boy, the South Pacific during WWII, driving to Oklahoma (before interstate highways) in a model T Ford to get the lady he loved, hunting trips to Colorado and of numerous other events on the railroad always enthralled me. However, I’ll miss sitting with him talking and eating boiled peanuts, probably the most.

Funeral services will be held at New Hope Primitive Baptist Church, 24315 NW C.R. 1493, Lacrosse, Florida 32658, on Monday, Aug. 1, 2016 at 11 a.m., with Otis Evans officiating. Interment will follow at New Hope Cemetery. A visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to the service.
