SEALED BIDS will be received and accepted by the Town of LaCrosse, Florida, until Monday, May 9, 2016 at 7:00p.m. for the following mowing and cleaning of all town property. Sealed bids will be opened and read aloud on Monday, May 9, 2014, at the regular Town Council meeting.
All bidders are required to schedule a pre-bid tour with Councilman Richard Dubberly Please call 954-812-7556 by Friday, April 29,2016to schedule a tour on

Bids are to cover:
1. Months of April through October 2016 (6 months) and April thru October 2017
(7 months)include the following:
a. Mowing and maintaining at least every other week the town property around the town hall, and fire station; the old ball field; the south side of the recreational area fence to the adjacent drive way; the area around the fire department training facility/cell towerthe fire department will be responsible for removal of any obstructive material with mowing to be completed the next regular trip.
b. Mow and maintain at least every other week the areas within 12 (twelve) feet of the paved roads on all State, County, and Town streets within the limits of the Town, including N.W. 49TH Terrace, unless not possible due to ditches or fencing or private planting, and in these cases mow to fence line. This also includes area beyond bridge stanchions
c. Maintain the shrubbery and hedges on town property and around the fire station; pick up fallen limbs at town hall before mowing.
d.Weed-eating particularly the areas around the town hall, fire station, fences and those areas mentioned above that have sign posts, light poles, decorative trees, and/or bridge stanchions at least once a month.
e. Fertilize and maintain all Palm Trees on SR 121 the first of September and March. f. All fenced areas adjacent to the fire station building to be mowed and/or trimmed inside and outside.
g. Mow and weed-eat the Recreation area located beside fire station at least every other week.
h. All Debris to be picked up before mowing
i. Storm debris will be picked up on a pre-determined cost basis.
j. Grass is not to be cut too short as to damage the root systems.
k. Mowing to be done during daylight hours
2. Bids for the months of November 2016 through March 2017 (5 months) and November 2017, through March 2018, ( 5 months) will be the same as specified above in sections (a) through (k) with the frequency listed as every other week being changed to once per month starting in November 2016..
***Provide Insurance certificate with 300,000 Liability and Workers Compensation Insurance or Workers Compensation Exemption Certificate with bid.
***All equipment including mower is to be furnished by the contractor of the job.
***Mowing dates must be provided to the Town Hall and Councilman Dubberly is to be notified
after each mowing before payment is issued.

Examine and inspect containers, materials and products to ensure that packing specifications are met. Clean and maintain work areas. All tools, supplies and equipment provided at no cost to worker. Must assist with all Good Agricultural Practices policies. Perform prolonged bending, reaching, and lifting up to 60 lbs. Workers should expect periods of little/no work because of weather/crop/other conditions beyond the employers control. Proper work attire is required. d.Weed-eating particularly the areas around the town hall, fire station, fences and those areas mentioned above that have sign posts, light poles, decorative trees, and/or bridge stanchions at least once a month.
e. Fertilize and maintain all Palm Trees on SR 121 the first of September and March. f. All fenced areas adjacent to the fire station building to be mowed and/or trimmed inside and outside.
g. Mow and weed-eat the Recreation area located beside fire station at least every other week.
h. All Debris to be picked up before mowing
i. Storm debris will be picked up on a pre-determined cost basis.
j. Grass is not to be cut too short as to damage the root systems.
k. Mowing to be done during daylight hours
2. Bids for the months of November 2016 through March 2017 (5 months) and November 2017, through March 2018, ( 5 months) will be the same as specified above in sections (a) through (k) with the frequency listed as every other week being changed to once per month starting in November 2016..

Workers must wear long sleeve shirts, long pants, no shorts, hard sole shoes, preferably boots, no tennis shoes. Due to possible Date of Need changes, worker is required to purchase travel insurance if available. We will reimburse the worker for transportation cost (including travel insurance) and subsistence to the employers work site from the place of recruitment upon completion of 50 percent of the contract period. Transportation payment will be no less (and is not required to be more) than the most economical and reasonable common carrier transportation charges for the distances involved. If the employee is unable or unfit to perform the duties listed after the 14 day pretrial, the employee will receive warnings, hours may be reduced to the minimum allowed in the certified petition or terminated. A copy of the work contract or a copy of the ETA 790 in lieu of a work contract, and any modifications, will be provided to the worker on the day the work commences. Workers will be paid $10.70 per hr, three fourths guarantee, 35 hrs per week, housing, equipment and transportation provided at no cost to workers who cannot reasonably return to their permanent residence at the end of each work day.
