Planning and Zoning Board: The Planning and Zoning Board (PZB) consists of five voting members and a non-voting School Board representative. The PZB provides recommendations to the City Commission on various development applications, such as comprehensive plan amendments, rezonings, and subdivisions, and reviews and makes decisions on certain development applications as provided for within the City’s Land Development Regulations. The PZB is also authorized by the City Commission to provide recommended policies and guiding action affecting development in the City, including amendments to Land Development Regulations, special studies, and other proposals that promote orderly development.

NOTICE OF HEARING TO REIMPOSE AND PROVIDE FOR COLLECTION OF MAINTENANCE ASSESSMENTS IN THE TK BASIN MAINTENANCE ASSESSMENT AREA
Notice is hereby given that the City Commission of the City of Alachua, Florida will conduct a public hearing to consider reimposition of maintenance special assessments in the TK Basin Maintenance Assessment Area, as shown above, to continue funding the maintenance and operating costs of the TK stormwater basin within the Maintenance Assessment Area. The hearing will be held at 6:00 P.M., or as soon thereafter as the matter can be heard, on September 9, 2024, in the James A. Lewis Commission Chambers, at the Alachua City Hall located at 15100 NW 142nd Terrace, Alachua, Florida, for the purpose of receiving public comment on the reimposition and collection of the maintenance assessments on the ad valorem tax bill. All affected real property owners have a right to appear at the hearing and to file written objections with the Deputy City Clerk any time prior to the public hearing. If a person decides to appeal any decision made by the City Commission with respect to any matter considered at the hearing, such person will need a record of the proceedings and may need to ensure that a verbatim record is made, including the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is to be made. The assessment for each parcel of real property is based each parcel’s percentage of the total land acreage within the TK watershed. A more specific description of the maintenance costs and the method of computing the assessment for each parcel of real property are set forth in the Initial Assessment Resolution (Resolution No. 10-20). Copies of the Master Capital Project and Service Assessment Ordinance (Ordinance No. 10-13), the Initial Assessment Resolution, the Final Assessment Resolution (Resolution No. 10-25), the Preliminary Rate Resolution (Resolution No. 24-11), and the updated Maintenance Assessment Roll are available for inspection at the office of the Deputy City Clerk, located at City Hall, 15100 NW 142nd Terrace, Alachua, Florida.
The City intends to continue collection of the maintenance assessments on your ad valorem tax bill to be mailed in November 2024, as authorized by Section 197.3632, Florida Statutes. Failure to pay the assessments will cause a tax certificate to be issued against the real property which may result in a loss of title. Unless proper steps are initiated in a court of competent jurisdiction to secure relief within 20 days from the date of City Commission’s action at the above hearing (including the method of apportionment, the rate of assessment and the imposition of assessments), such action shall be the final adjudication of the issues presented.

SPECIAL MAGISTRATE SERVICES
The City of High Springs is requesting proposals from interested and qualified Florida licensed attorneys to provide Special Magistrate Services in accordance with the City of High Springs Code of Ordinances and Florida Statutes Chapter 162, as a Special Magistrate. Notice is hereby given that the City Commission of the City of Alachua, Florida will conduct a public hearing to consider reimposition of maintenance special assessments in the TK Basin Maintenance Assessment Area, as shown above, to continue funding the maintenance and operating costs of the TK stormwater basin within the Maintenance Assessment Area. The hearing will be held at 6:00 P.M., or as soon thereafter as the matter can be heard, on September 9, 2024, in the James A. Lewis Commission Chambers, at the Alachua City Hall located at 15100 NW 142nd Terrace, Alachua, Florida, for the purpose of receiving public comment on the reimposition and collection of the maintenance assessments on the ad valorem tax bill. All affected real property owners have a right to appear at the hearing and to file written objections with the Deputy City Clerk any time prior to the public hearing. If a person decides to appeal any decision made by the City Commission with respect to any matter considered at the hearing, such person will need a record of the proceedings and may need to ensure that a verbatim record is made, including the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is to be made. Planning and Zoning Board: The Planning and Zoning Board (PZB) consists of five voting members and a non-voting School Board representative. The PZB provides recommendations to the City Commission on various development applications, such as comprehensive plan amendments, rezonings, and subdivisions, and reviews and makes decisions on certain development applications as provided for within the City’s Land Development Regulations. The PZB is also authorized by the City Commission to provide recommended policies and guiding action affecting development in the City, including amendments to Land Development Regulations, special studies, and other proposals that promote orderly development.

NOTICE OF HEARING TO REIMPOSE AND PROVIDE FOR COLLECTION OF MAINTENANCE ASSESSMENTS IN THE TK BASIN MAINTENANCE ASSESSMENT AREA
Notice is hereby given that the City Commission of the City of Alachua, Florida will conduct a public hearing to consider reimposition of maintenance special assessments in the TK Basin Maintenance Assessment Area, as shown above, to continue funding the maintenance and operating costs of the TK stormwater basin within the Maintenance Assessment Area. The hearing will be held at 6:00 P.M., or as soon thereafter as the matter can be heard, on September 9, 2024, in the James A. Lewis Commission Chambers, at the Alachua City Hall located at 15100 NW 142nd Terrace, Alachua, Florida, for the purpose of receiving public comment on the reimposition and collection of the maintenance assessments on the ad valorem tax bill. All affected real property owners have a right to appear at the hearing and to file written objections with the Deputy City Clerk any time prior to the public hearing. If a person decides to appeal any decision made by the City Commission with respect to any matter considered at the hearing, such person will need a record of the proceedings and may need to ensure that a verbatim record is made, including the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is to be made. The assessment for each parcel of real property is based each parcel’s percentage of the total land acreage within the TK watershed. A more specific description of the maintenance costs and the method of computing the assessment for each parcel of real property are set forth in the Initial Assessment Resolution (Resolution No. 10-20). Copies of the Master Capital Project and Service Assessment Ordinance (Ordinance No. 10-13), the Initial Assessment Resolution, the Final Assessment Resolution (Resolution No. 10-25), the Preliminary Rate Resolution (Resolution No. 24-11), and the updated Maintenance Assessment Roll are available for inspection at the office of the Deputy City Clerk, located at City Hall, 15100 NW 142nd Terrace, Alachua, Florida.
The City intends to continue collection of the maintenance assessments on your ad valorem tax bill to be mailed in November 2024, as authorized by Section 197.3632, Florida Statutes. Failure to pay the assessments will cause a tax certificate to be issued against the real property which may result in a loss of title. A minimum of three (3) members must reside in the City of Alachua and two (2) members may be residents of the greater Alachua area. REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS
SPECIAL MAGISTRATE SERVICES
The City of High Springs is requesting proposals from interested and qualified Florida licensed attorneys to provide Special Magistrate Services in accordance with the City of High Springs Code of Ordinances and Florida Statutes Chapter 162, as a Special Magistrate. Specifications may be obtained at City Hall, City Clerk’s Office, 23718 W US HWY 27, High Springs, FL 32643 or on our website vwww.highsprings.gov. It is the intent of the City to procure a Special Magistrate for a contract term of two (2) years and will automatically renew on a yearly basis unless terminated by either party.
Qualification for the Special Magistrate are:
1. Be an active member in good standing of the Florida Bar with a minimum of five (5) years recent experience practicing law, which experience shall include litigation and administrative hearing experience.
2. Not be an employee of the city or hold any office with the city government, nor hold any other elective or appointive office in the county or state while serving as special magistrate.
3. Comply with the Code of Ethics of the State of Florida.

Notice is hereby given that the City Commission of the City of Alachua, Florida will conduct a public hearing to consider reimposition of maintenance special assessments in the TK Basin Maintenance Assessment Area, as shown above, to continue funding the maintenance and operating costs of the TK stormwater basin within the Maintenance Assessment Area. The hearing will be held at 6:00 P.M., or as soon thereafter as the matter can be heard, on September 9, 2024, in the James A. Lewis Commission Chambers, at the Alachua City Hall located at 15100 NW 142nd Terrace, Alachua, Florida, for the purpose of receiving public comment on the reimposition and collection of the maintenance assessments on the ad valorem tax bill. All affected real property owners have a right to appear at the hearing and to file written objections with the Deputy City Clerk any time prior to the public hearing.
