NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING BEFORE THE PLANNING AND ZONING BOARD OF THE CITY OF ALACHUA, FLORIDA Notice is hereby given that the Planning & Zoning Board of the City of Alachua will hold a public hearing on September 10, 2024 at 6:00 p.m. The hearing will be held in the James A. Lewis Commission Chambers in City Hall, located at 15100 NW 142nd Terrace, Alachua, Florida, to consider the following: A request by Walker Owen, P.E., of Causseaux, Hewett, & Walpole, LLC, applicant, on behalf of Semoj 13, LLC, property owner, for consideration of a Site Plan to construct a ±8,836 square foot convenience store, retail building, and gasoline fueling station with associated site improvements on a ±2.14 acre subject property located southeast of the intersection of NW US Highway 441 and NW 59th Terrace; Tax Parcel Number 05885-010-014; FLUM: Commercial; Zoning: Commercial Intensive (CI). At the public hearing, all interested parties may appear and be heard with respect to the application. Copies of the application are available for public inspection at the Planning and Community Development Department, 15100 NW 142nd Terrace, Alachua, Florida, on any regular business day between the hours of 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Written comments on the application may be sent to the following address: City of Alachua, Planning and Community Development, P.O. YOUTH ADVISORY COUNCIL Vacancy The Alachua City Commission is accepting applications for four (4) vacancies on its Youth Advisory Council. Appointments will be for two-year terms. Interested applicants must be enrolled in a public school, private school, or home education program within the City of Alachua in grades nine through twelve. Applicants must also be willing to attend meetings on at least a bi-monthly basis and have a keen interest in youth. The duties of the YAC include recommending to the City Commission policies, procedures, and philosophies on issues and initiatives to positively impact the lives of youth. Additionally, the YAC will facilitate community meetings with youth to discuss issues and suggestions for improvement, assist in planning and implementing various events to benefit youth in the community and promote and recognize the abilities, accomplishments, and contributions of youth.
