PUBLIC NOTICE
A second neighborhood workshop will be held to discuss a proposed development plan for a new approx. 3,600 Sq. Ft. commercial building with associated infrastructure on Alachua County tax parcel number 05949-011-009 generally located in the 13100 block of 104th Terrace in the City of Alachua. No changes to the development are proposed. This parcel has an Industrial future land use designation and is in the Industrial, Light and Warehousing (ILW) zoning district. This is not a public hearing. The purpose of this meeting is to inform members of the public of the proposed development plan and to seek their comments. The meeting will be held at 5:00 pm on Thursday, March 20, 2025, in the Meeting Room of the Alachua Library Branch, located at 14913 NW 140 Street, Alachua, Florida 32615.

FIRE STATION HVAC REPLACEMENT
The City of High Springs seeks Request for Proposals from State of Florida licensed and insured HVAC contractors for the replacement of one existing HVAC split system, associated ductwork, and controls to improve building humidity control and ventilation, including incidental electrical power, roofing, and general trades scopes of work. Contractors with experience working in critical facilities such as Fire/EMS stations, police stations, emergency operations centers, and/or hospitals are preferred. A site visit prior to bid submittal is encouraged.

LAND DEVELOPMENT CODE REWRITE
The City of High Springs is requesting proposals from interested and qualified professionals to assist with the rewrite of its Land Development Code (LDC). The goal of the rewrite is to ensure the LDC supports sustainable growth, enhances urban and rural development, and promotes clarity, consistency, and ease of use for residents and staff. The selected consultant will be responsible for conducting a thorough review of the existing LDC, and developing a new code that aligns with the City’s Comprehensive Plan. The work should focus on streamlining regulations, improving user-friendliness, promoting environmental sustainability, and ensuring that the code supports the community’s long-term vision for growth.

SPECIAL MAGISTRATE SERVICES
The City of High Springs is requesting proposals from interested and qualified Florida licensed attorneys to provide Special Magistrate Services in accordance with the City of High Springs Code of Ordinances and Florida Statutes Chapter 162, as a Special Magistrate. Specifications may be obtained at City Hall, City Clerk’s Office, 23718 W US HWY 27, High Springs, FL 32643 or on our website www.highsprings.gov. It is the intent of the City to procure a Special Magistrate for a contract term of two (2) years and will automatically renew on a yearly basis unless terminated by either party.
Qualification for the Special Magistrate are:
1. Be an active member in good standing of the Florida Bar with a minimum of five (5) years recent experience practicing law, which experience shall include litigation and administrative hearing experience.
2. Not be an employee of the city or hold any office with the city government, nor hold any other elective or appointive office in the county or state while serving as special magistrate.
3. Comply with the Code of Ethics of the State of Florida.

NOTICE OF VACANCY
CITIZEN ADVISORY TASK FORCE (CATF)
The City of Alachua is accepting applications for one (1) vacancy on the CATF. Appointment will be for a three (3) year term. The CATF is the advisory body to the Alachua City Commission on the CDBG Program. It is a five (5) member committee that meets at least semiannually at City Hall. Applicants must reside in the City of Alachua and fall within the low to moderate income limits.
