James T. Legree, 71, was born in Columbia County to the late Jimmie Lue Super and Matthew James Legree. He attended Fort White, Fla., public schools.
He confessed Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age.
As part of God’s divine plan, on Thursday, April 26, 2012 at Haven Hospice in Lake City, Fla., he answered God’s call. He was preceded in death by his siblings Mary Lee Phillips, Burleen Brinsen, Willie Luis Super and Eddie Lee Legree.
His memories live on in the hearts of his loved ones and friends. He is survived by his children, Averill J. (Renee) Legree, Mary E. (Glenn) Fleming, Philica A. Legree, Nellie Reed, all of Ft. White, James F. Legree of High Springs, Fla., and Vera (Leo) Blake of Alachua, Fla.; brothers and sisters. Roosevelt (Carol) Legree, Clara (Phillip) Jones both of Ft. White, Ralph (Shirley) McNish and Emma (Willie James) Brown, both of Gainesville, Fla., 21 grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and sorrowing friends.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 5, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, Ft. White, Rev. Donnell Sanders Pastor. Burial will follow in Heavenly Rest Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday 6-8 p.m. at A. Jerome Brown Funeral Home 1560 NW 1st Avenue, High Springs.
