Christopher Mark Hancock, also known as “Country Tarzan,” 56, of Bell, Fla., went home to be with the Lord on Nov. 24, 2013 at North Florida Regional Medical Center after a brief illness.
Mr. Hancock graduated from Santa Fe High School, served in the U.S. Army 1979-1982, and was employed by 83 Farms for the past seven years.
He is preceded in death by his mother, “Miss Emma” Hancock; brother-in-law, Steve Kowatch; and grandparents, Henry and Ladora Nettles and Burl and Jewel Vaughn. He leaves behind to celebrate his homegoing, his children, Marty and Bridgette Hancock; his father, Remer Hancock; brothers, Reno (Margaret) Hancock, Rex (Mary Jo) Hancock; sisters, Patricia Hancock and Sherry (Mike) Jordan; many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and devoted friends. With special thanks to friend, Karen Seeloff.
The family is requesting a celebration of Chris’ homegoing with a viewing to be held Friday, Nov. 29, 6-8 p.m. at Forest Grove Baptist Church, 22575 NW 94th Avenue, Alachua, Fla. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, Nov. 30 at 11 a.m. at the same location. Arrangements are under the care of Evans-Carter Funeral Home, High Springs, Fla.
