INVITATION TO BID MOWING CONTRACT
Sealed Bids will be accepted by the Town of Lacrosse, Florida until Thursday, March 7th, 2025 at 2:00pm for the lawn maintenance and mowing of all town property. Bids can be submitted in person, email clerk@townoflacrosse.net, as an attachment or by mail to Town of LaCrosse, 20613 N SR 121, Alachua, FL 32615.
Bids will be opened and read aloud on Tuesday, March 11th, 2025, at the regular meeting of the town council. The council maintains the right of refusal and at which time the bid would be re- advertised.
This contract is a two-year contract to begin April 1, 2025, and ending March 31, 2027, subject to a one-year renewal option by the town council.
All bidders are required to attend the pre-bid tour and will meet at the Town Hall 20613 N SR 121, LaCrosse, on Friday, February 28th, 2025, at 9 am. For more information, or to schedule for the tour call the LaCrosse Town Hall 386-462-2784 during regular business hours on Tuesday and Thursday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.Bids will include the following:
The following properties are inclusive in the lawn service agreement: Town Hall, Fire Station and its training facility, recreational areas, and the cell tower. The roadside right-of-way (ROW) of paved roads on all State, County and Town streets within the corporate limits of the town, including the Woodpecker Walking Trail. This contract is subject to a one-year renewal option by the Town Council.
A. During the months of April through October (7) months, the following are required once every two weeks, at a minimum.
a. Mow all properties listed above. Grass is not to be cut as to damage the root system.
b. ROWs are to be mowed to 12 (twelve) feet minimum from the road shoulder, where possible.
c. Mowing is to be done during daylight hours.
d. Remove fallen limbs or obstructive debris that would prevent mowing. Proper disposal of debris. This may include resident placed limbs in the ROW, best practice includes removal of the debris and notification to the Town Council for continued infractions.
e. Do not mow over plastics and paper trash, Litter shall be picked up and disposed of properly.
f. Leaf-blow all sidewalks located along SR 121, Woodpecker Walking Trail and the concrete parking pad located at Town Hall.
g. String-trim (weed-eat) around the Town Hall and Fire Station, sidewalks, permanent signs and fences, signposts, light poles, trees and shrubs including 58th terrace bridge parapet railings. The two entrance signs located on SR 121 at each end of town and low-lying ditches around each sign should be trimmed at least 3 feet around.
h. Edge sidewalks as needed or at least twice a year.
i. Fertilize and maintain shrubbery and young trees in early spring and late summer. The town will provide the fertilizer.B. During the months of November through March (5 months). The above services are required once per month. Remove crape myrtle suckers to promote tree health.
C. The Woodpecker walking trail is a wild spaces-public place. Mow height and frequency may differ from roadside medians. Converse with the Town Administration.
D. Mulch twice per year, Spring and Fall, all young trees, shrubbery and planters. Town will provide mulch.
OTHER CONSIDERATIONS
1. Provide an insurance certificate with 300,000 Liability and Worker’s Compensation Insurance or Worker’s Compensation Exemption Certificate with bid.
2. All equipment, including mower is to be furnished by the contractor of the job.

BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF HIGH SPRINGS, FLORIDA, NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that, pursuant Chapter 190, Florida Statutes, as amended and the City of High Springs Land Development Code, objections, recommendations and comments concerning the petition, as outlined below, will be heard by the City Commission of the City of High Springs, Florida, at a public hearing to be held on February 27, 2025 at 6:30 p.m., or as soon thereafter as the matter can be heard, in the City Commission Chambers, City Hall located at 23718 West U.S. Highway 27, High Springs, Florida. The City of Alachua is accepting applications for one (1) vacancy on the CATF. Appointment will be for a three (3) year term. The CATF is the advisory body to the Alachua City Commission on the CDBG Program. It is a five (5) member committee that meets at least semiannually at City Hall.
