Rebuild Florida Public Notice
Notice is hereby given that the City of Newberry is offering citizens the opportunity to comment on the proposed grant application for the Rebuild Florida Infrastructure Repair Program.
Notice is hereby given that the City of Newberry is offering the opportunity to comment on the proposed grant application for the Rebuild Florida Infrastructure Repair Program competitive solicitation issued by the Florida Department of Commerce. The funding is provided by the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Community Development Block Grant – Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) Program to address unmet disaster recovery needs related to damage from the 2023 and 2024 Storms. Florida Department of Commerce has allocated $400,000,000 in funding to the Rebuild Florida Infrastructure Repair Program. The City of Newberry’s proposed project will consist of improvements to drainage infrastructure to mitigate flooding conditions for the area bound by Main Street on the East, CSX Rail on the West, SR 26 on the North, and SW 3rd Avenue on the South . The primary improvement will be to provide a curb and gutter typical section on neighborhood roads to include additional curb inlets, slight widening to 10-foot lanes, curbs, gutters, sidewalk and expansion joints between curb and gutter. The City is requesting $6,625,000. The program does not require matching funds from the City.
The comment period begins on 9/11/2025 and ends on 9/25/2025. All comments must be submitted by email to Jane Sullivan at jsullivan@newberryfl.gov and received no later than close of business 9/25/2025 to be included with the application package that will be submitted to the State of Florida.

Notice is hereby given that the City of Newberry is offering citizens the opportunity to comment on the proposed grant application for the Rebuild Florida Infrastructure Repair Program.
Notice is hereby given that the City of Newberry is offering the opportunity to comment on the proposed grant application for the Rebuild Florida Infrastructure Repair Program competitive solicitation issued by the Florida Department of Commerce. The funding is provided by the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Community Development Block Grant – Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) Program to address unmet disaster recovery needs related to damage from the 2023 and 2024 Storms. Florida Department of Commerce has allocated $400,000,000 in funding to the Rebuild Florida Infrastructure Repair Program. The City of Newberry’s proposed project will consist of improvements to drainage infrastructure to mitigate flooding conditions for the area bound by Main Street on the East, CSX Rail on the West, SR 26 on the North, and SW 3rd Avenue on the South . The primary improvement will be to provide a curb and gutter typical section on neighborhood roads to include additional curb inlets, slight widening to 10-foot lanes, curbs, gutters, sidewalk and expansion joints between curb and gutter. The City is requesting $6,625,000. The program does not require matching funds from the City.
